I would like to consider myself as a versatile engineer with solid background in the maritime and offshore sector. In brief, my qualifications include, inter alia: a) MSc in Ship and Offshore Technology b) Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering c) Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering I am currently working as an assistant consultant for the Shipping Advisory team in DNV, Hamburg. As an assistant consultant I have supported the team in Poseidon Principles reporting and analysis process, an ongoing project relating to EU Taxonomy and a new project with the Maritime forecast 2022. Before DNV, I worked as a werkstudent at EIMSKIP for export department helping in completing export cargo bookings of both LCL and FCL types, processing IMO documents, preparing loading lists and creating BHT’s for customs clearance. During my time at EIMSKIP I acquired good knowledge about logistics and all the processes involved within. Being my first German workplace, it has been special to me as I have had the opportunity to work closely with my German colleagues and experience their culture and hone my language skills. For my master thesis I worked on optimizing mooring line configuration for multi-unit semi-submersible floating offshore wind turbines. The work revolved around the hydrostatic and quasi-static analysis of a floating semisubmersible substructure and determining which among the two catenary mooring and single point mooring is better in terms of mooring loads, excursion, and costs for a multi rotor semi-submersible wind turbine. It was found that the proposed design could sustain higher environmental loading when installed with a catenary mooring system along with high manufacturing cost advantages when compared to similar single rotor semi-submersible offshore wind turbines. As a part of my group project, I had initially worked on exploring the ‘Overall feasibility of Repurposing Decommissioned Offshore Oil and Gas platforms in the North Sea into Aquaculture farms. The group project concluded with an overall design proposal and a 3D modelling of the entire setup. Post completion of the group project, I was selected by my professor to carry on further research as a ‘Postgraduate vocational researcher’ wherein I examined the technical and economic feasibility of converting decommissioned offshore gas rigs into aquaculture farms. After a successful technical feasibility study, I performed a cost benefit analysis implementing capital budgeting techniques (NPV) and a safety assessment implementing the ‘Management system’ using Safety scheme. This project involved extensive multi-disciplinary critical review and implementation of advanced research techniques which led to a Conference paper publication at the SPE Offshore Europe Conference 2021 and is now published by One Petro. With my educational background and skills gained through academia and projects I can help you with a variety of industrial and academic oriented services. My core strengths among others would be 3D modelling and design, structural analysis, quasi static analysis, academic research, research paper writing etc.
