Summary of duties: Perform analytical, quantitative, and qualitative reviews of financial statements prepared by third-party administrators to ensure that BlackRock’s disclosure policies and quality standards are maintained and are accurately reported to the regulators. Build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal and external partners including portfolio managers. Analyze and communicate new and existing accounting standards and best practices. Analyze the technical and regulatory issues affecting the investment fund industry, leveraging a deep knowledge of risk management. Analyze and improve performance of current reporting applications and related operational workflows, including implementation of new workflow tools. Enhance accounting data within financial regulatory reports to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting standards. Utilize business intelligence and big data analysis to analyze reporting trends to optimize and improve the existing process. Assist in automation of key regulatory filings of BlackRock funds. Assist with ad hoc projects using domain expertise acquired by FRM level 1 certification and utilize technical skills including Python, SQL, MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to enhance data form in a proprietary platform, Aladdin.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Risk Management, Finance, Banking, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience as a Reference Data Operations Analyst, International Trade Finance Operations Manager, General Banking Operations Manager, System Analyst, or a related role. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Risk Management, Finance, Banking, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience as a Reference Data Operations Analyst, International Trade Finance Operations Manager, General Banking Operations Manager, System Analyst, or a related role. Three (3) years of experience with: implementing technology initiatives within team to achieve scalability and efficiency in operations; ensuring accuracy of large analytical data sets and automating processes with scripts to efficiently query information from large databases; incorporating high priority data and analytics initiatives in conjunction with system enhancements; analyzing data and sets of information to evaluate errors and identifying appropriate corrections for regulatory and financial statement filings, to meet financial and regulatory requirements; articulating results and discrepancies of financial analyses to senior management, regulators, and auditors; evaluating organizational operations based on business and financial principles; and leveraging software development standard methodologies in relational database development. If qualifying with a Bachelor’s degree, must have five (5) years of experience with the aforementioned skills.
